Welcome to my little corner of Fishs Eddy! I’m Julie Gaines, the slightly offbeat co-founder of this wonderfully weird dish shop that’s been a New York staple since 1985. My husband, Dave, and I started Fishs Eddy by rescuing forgotten plates from old restaurant supply stores—totally by accident, but hey, it worked out!
Over the years, I’ve collected more than just dishes—I’ve gathered wild stories, unexpected adventures, and plenty of questionable business decisions (some brilliant, some… not so much). This is where I’ll share the behind-the-scenes chaos, the characters I’ve met along the way, and the magic that keeps Fishs Eddy spinning.
